CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Middle Tennessee Council for Boy Scouts of America hosted the Good Scout Award Breakfast Friday, April 5. More than 130 attended the event, which raised $69,600 for Boy Scout programs in Middle Tennessee.

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts served as master of ceremonies and was joined by Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett. U.S. Congressman Mark Green was honored with the Good Scout Award of Montgomery County.

According to Chairman of the Cogioba District, Jay Albertia, more than 1,787 youth were served with the help of more than 570 adult volunteers. The district has 24 Cub Scout packs, 20 Boy Scout Troops, 3 Venturing Crew and 3 Exploring Posts.

There were also 19 Eagle Scouts in 2018, which is the highest honor a young person can receive in the Boy Scouts.

For over 100 years, the Middle Tennessee Council, Boy Scouts of America has provided youth guidance in outdoor adventure, leadership training and character development.
