ERIN, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) A GoFundMe campaign has been established for a Houston County High football player who was paralyzed in a game on August 3 at Jo Byrns High School.

Jefferey Cox suffered a spinal injury and has no movement below the neck. Cox is currently in treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is expected be hospitalized for an extended period of time.

Family members are reportedly making daily trips to Vanderbilt from Houston County and are missing work in order to consult with doctors.

A benefit dinner will be held for the Cox family August 25 at Erin Town Square.
