NASHVILLE, TN – The annual Girl Scouts Honors Day was held on May 2, at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, bringing together Girl Scouts, families, leaders, and community supporters from across Middle Tennessee for a celebration of service, leadership, and academic excellence.

Among the recognitions was the presentation of the Agenia Clark Scholarship for Excellence in Leadership to Kayla Saelens, a 12th-grade student at Clarksville High School. The scholarship honors students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership, community service, and a commitment to making a meaningful difference.

The scholarship is presented through the Sue Peters Foundation in partnership with the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee, which continues to support youth development and leadership opportunities throughout the region.

Kayla Saelens was recognized for her academic achievement, leadership, and community service, and in recognition of her accomplishments, she received a $2,000 scholarship as part of the 2026 Agenia Clark Scholarship for Excellence in Leadership.

The award was presented by Danielle Barnes, CEO of Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee, alongside representatives of the Sue Peters Foundation, during a ceremony attended by hundreds of guests.

In attendance to support Kayla were Karlene Brown, leader of Troop 571 of Clarksville, as well as her co-leader and mother, Nadine Saelens.
