CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A 28-year-old Georgia man was caught by surprise Wednesday after he was robbed by someone he met on a dating app.
On November 27, the man travelled from Georgia after communicating with a Clarksville man, Teyron Bland, through the Grinder online dating app. The two decided to meet in Clarksville.
Bland provided a residential address in Clarksville for the two men to meet. After entering the residence, the Georgia man set down his phone, at which time, Bland took it and demanded money for its return.
The Georgia man opted to leave the phone behind, exited the residence, and got into his vehicle. Bland followed him. Bland then reached through the driver’s side window, grabbed the steering wheel and the man’s shirt collar, and threatened him with harm. After giving Bland $45, the phone was returned, and the victim left the immediate area and called police.
Police reviewed text correspondence between the two men and used a photo lineup to identify Teyron Bland as the suspect.
Teyron Bland, 30, was taken into custody and booked into the Montgomery County Jail for Robbery. His bond was set at $10,000.
Officer Schohn investigated the Robbery.
