CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Garrett Rye has announced he is running for Clarksville City Council in Ward 7.
Rye is a native of Clarksville, a graduate of Clarksville Christian School, and a current student at Austin Peay State University. “By pursuing a bachelor’s in political science, I will have greater insight into policy making and will be well prepared for the challenges facing the City Council.”
He has served as a volunteer with Manna Café and served on the city’s Human Relations Commission.
“As city councilman, I will continue to conduct myself with honesty and integrity while being transparent in my decision making. As a representative of the people, listening and responding to my constituents is of utmost importance to me. When making decisions, I will seek input from the citizens of Ward 7 while adhering to my conservative values. My ward must have a city councilman who is not afraid to make the hard decisions and to push for ideas and legislation that his constituents want,” Rye said.
“My major focuses will be on infrastructure, smart growth, and preservation of our city’s history. While in office, I will make it my personal responsibility to respond to everyone in a timely manner, as well as hold regular forums and community meetings to gather and disseminate information.”
Ward 7 covers the south end of Clarksville, including Southern Hills and the Hilldale area roughly south of Memorial Drive to Alfred Drive, then south of Madison Street.
