FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Twelve military police officers at Fort Campbell have been recognized for their response to a recent active shooter situation on the installation.
The 12 soldiers from 716th Military Police Battalion were honored Aug. 26 by Garrison Commander COL James R. Salome for their actions during the Aug. 25 incident.

“We appreciate the efforts of our first responders in maintaining the safety and security of our community,” Col. Salome said in a Facebook post. “They responded swiftly and were able to avert tragedy. I’m proud of our law enforcement professionals. Their actions on Aug. 25 reflect greatly upon themselves, the 716th MP Bn., the Fort Campbell Directorate of Emergency Services, U.S. Army Fort Campbell, and the U.S. Army.”
