CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Saturday, May 18, Fort Campbell High School defeated Heritage Christian Academy in their district tournament to keep their season alive. With their 8-3 win, the Falcons won their first district tournament game since 1999, according to FCHS statistician Donny Caver.
Throughout the contest, Fort Campbell’s pitching rotation kept Heritage Christian in check. Adam Harrington started the game on the mound for the Falcons and pitched 3.1 innings while only giving up 1 earned run, 2 walks and 0 hits. He also struck out two batters. Meanwhile, Michael Anderson and Thomas Roach pitched in relief and closed the door shut on any potential comeback.
In addition to his pitching performance, Harrington also hit a triple and drove in 3 RBIs. Noah Herron also drove in multiple RBIs on the day after going 2 for 3 with a double.
Next up, FCHS will play the number one overall seed in the district tournament – University Heights Academy. The other semi-final game set to take place will be the two seed, Christian County High School, vs the three seed, Hopkinsville High. All games are set to be played at Christian County High School on Monday.
