CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The former treasurer at a church in Clarksville has been indicted on a property theft charge after allegedly stealing over $10,000 over a three-year period.

Cynthia Minnick, 64, is alleged to have stolen over $10,000 but less than $60,000 from the Clarksville Church of God of Prophecy at 1586 Ashland City Road between Sept. 14, 2017, and Sept. 14, 2020, according to court records obtained by Clarksville Now.

Minnick was the church’s treasurer for 22 years, the church’s pastor, Mike Burton, said.

Burton told Clarksville Now the missing money was discovered during an audit in May 2020. He declined to go into further detail.

Minnick is set for arraignment on May 2.
