CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Chad Malone, an alumnus of the APSU Art Department, recently gained recognition when his work was selected as the cover art for the DVD Box Set of a popular TV show.
Malone entered a fan contest to create the illustration for the packaging of Season 4 of “Arrested Development,” and was chosen from the entries posted on Tumblr by show creator Mitch Hurwitz.
In addition to having his art featured on the Box Set, the graphic designer won $1,000 cash.
The set will be released on December 16. According to a release on Nerdist.com, fans will find special features include featurettes such as The History of Arrested Development, Working with Two Directors, a behind-the-scenes look at Tobias’ Fantastic 4 musical, as well as In Character features on Tobias, Barry Zuckerhorn, Herbert Love, Rebel Alley, Buster, George, Oscar, and Michael.
Malone is quoted as saying the win is his one of his “greatest personal achievements,” and that he is “a huge fan of the series.”
Malone’s winning entry features the characters in a “minimalist but pretty darn cool,” style, as Nerdist describes it.
