The Week 1 slate is filled with fun matchups, two in-city games, and a few powerhouse programs coming to Clarksville. Let’s take a look at the matchups this week. All games kick off at 7 p.m., with the exception of Fort Campbell and Northwest, who kick at 8:30 p.m.
Game of the Week: Kirkwood Cobras @ West Creek Coyotes
The two teams that closed the 2024 regular season against each other will kick it off, battling it out at the Coyote Den. Fort Campbell Falcons @ Northwest Vikings (@ Trigg County HS)
The Vikings and Falcons will kick off their season against each other for the third straight year, this time at the Wildcat Chevrolet Bowl in Cadiz, Kentucky. The two teams have split the previous two matchups, with the Vikings winning last season for head coach Mark Hall’s first career win. Should be a fun one in Cadiz.
Springfield Yellow Jackets @ Rossview Hawks
Rossview’s first game in the Stratie Young era will not be an easy task. The Springfield Yellow Jackets, coming off an 8-6 season and a run to the TSSAA Class 5A semifinals, are looking to continue that success, starting with the Hawks this week. The Hawks will look to make a statement in their first game under Young.

Blackman Blaze @ Clarksville Wildcats
The Blaze are coming off a 6-6 season that included a second-round playoff appearance, with notable wins coming against Summitt and Siegel. Their first test of the year will be the Clarksville Wildcats at Hilda J. Richardson field, who are riding a 25-game regular-season winning streak, dating back to September 2022.
Kenwood Knights @ Hillsboro Burros
The Knights open their season with a road test against the Burros in Nashville. Last season, the Knights fell to them in Week 5 by a score of 27-20. Kenwood now looks for a little revenge and will try to start the season 1-0.

Montgomery Central Indians @ Sycamore War Eagles
Year 2 of the Wyatt Page era starts all too fittingly at Sycamore High, where he was an offensive coordinator before landing at Montgomery Central, earning Region 6 3A Assistant Coach of the Year honors his last season with the War Eagles. The last time these teams met up was in 2022, when Central pulled out a 22-13 win. Page and the Indians will try to start Year 2 off with a win.
Hunters Lane Warriors @ Clarksville Academy Cougars
The first action of the year at Simpson Field will be the Cougars hosting the Warriors. Both teams are coming off 2-8 campaigns last season, and look to grab their first win of the year in Week 1. The last time Hunters Lane played a team from Clarksville, the Vikings of Northwest defeated them 17-0 in 2019.

Saturday: Northeast Eagles @ Christian County Colonels
The Eagles kick their season off at the Stadium of Champions in Hopkinsville against the Colonels. The Eagles are coming off a jamboree win against Fort Campbell, and the Colonels went 1-1 in that same jamboree, losing to Kenwood and defeating Northwest. Saturday night under the lights will decide who starts their season 1-0.
