Florence Kay Ford Pedder, age 69, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at her residence.
Kay was born March 7, 1952, the youngest child and only daughter of Richard Connell Ford and Grace Pauline Alley Ford.
She went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully at her residence surrounded by her friends and loved ones. She was a private duty caregiver for almost 40 years. She loved her cats, her home and her Harmony Baptist Church family.
A celebration of life Service will be held Saturday, May 22, at 2 p.m., at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. Jake Townsend officiating. She will be laid to rest at Port Royal United Methodist Church Cemetery, alongside her mother, father and brother, who preceded her in death. Visitation will be Friday, May 21, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 12 p.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include her brother, David Alley Ford and his daughter, Buffy and family; caregiver and ex-husband, Pat Pedder and several cousins. Kay wanted to thank Dr. David Gullett, her nurse, Sandra, the staff of Comfort Care Hospice and everyone who took care of her during her battle with cancer.
