Update, 11 a.m.: The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Flood Warning for South Fork Little River at Hopkinsville 68/80 and at the Hopkinsville Bypass.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

The warning lasts through tonight.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Christian, Todd and Trigg Counties in Kentucky are under a Flash Flood Warning until about 3 p.m. today.

At 8:51 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

This includes Interstate 24 in Kentucky between Mile Markers 70 and 92, and Pennyrile Parkway between Mile Markers 1 and 19.

“Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles,” the alert said. “Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely.”
