CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A fire destroyed a home on Lafayette Road in northwest Montgomery County early Saturday morning.
The fire was called in to dispatch at 6:50 a.m., according to 911 logs. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrived within minutes, and Montgomery County Fire Service volunteer firefighters arrived at about 7:12 a.m., according to home owner Missy Sanchez.

Four people were inside the home when the fire started, Sanchez said, and one of them – a pregnant woman – had to be treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation. The others were not injured.
Seven pets died in the fire, Sanchez said.
Firefighters remained on the scene until about 11 a.m., Sanchez said. A hot spot rekindled at about noon, and family members were able to put it out.
The home, which sits behind another main house on the property, was a total loss, and a car on the property was destroyed. The main house also had some damage, according to Montgomery County EMA Director Ed Baggett.
The fire is still under investigation, Baggett said Sunday.
Family members suspect the fire started with embers from a wood stove landing on the roof.
Woodlawn Fire Service, Montgomery Count Rescue Squad and Clarksville Fire Rescue responded, Baggett said.
A GoFundMe fundraiser titled The LaBar Rebuild after fire Fund has been set up to help the family that was living in the home.
