CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Summer is yard sale season, but driving to dozens of yard sales, gift shops and antique stores can waste gas and try patience.

The Clarksville Flea Market, at the Clarksville Speedway, will bring together yard sales, crafters and artists all in one place. The gates open at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 29, and the deals don’t stop until at least 2 p.m.

Join ClarksvilleNow.com, Q108, Beaver 100.3, Sports Radio 540 The Fan, Z97.5 and Eagle 94.3 for the inaugural event that features deals, food and fun.

The flea market aims to deliver deals and a bit of fun. Pony Pals Party Ponies will offer pony rides, and food trucks like Big City Dogs and the Lunch Rush will serve breakfast and lunch items.

Items for sale at the Clarksville Flea Market range from clothing, toys, electronics, furniture and other household goods typically found at yard sales to handcrafted products provided by local businesses and entrepreneurs.

Torri Belvin, one of the founders of 3 Peas in a Pod Jewelry on Ft. Campbell Blvd., will be at the event with her bows, jewelry, purses and candles. She founded her business on fair prices and good deals, which she’ll offer at the flea market.

“Our children were going to the mall and spending way too much money, so we wanted to create a business where people could get the same items cheaper,” she said. She started 3 Peas in a Pod in January.

Judy Arnett, creator of I Support Nana’s Knockers, has plenty of experience with flea markets. She sells her witty T-shirts and other clothing items to raise money for breast cancer research.

“I’m selling handmade bracelets, key chains, and T-shirts that say ‘I Support Nana’s Knockers,’” she said.

Arnett and her team, Nana’s Knockers, will participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, a three-day, 60-mile walk that raises money for the organization. Arnett has never had breast cancer, but said she wanted to do something to help those who have been affected by it. She heard about the Clarksville Flea Market and, “ I jumped at the chance,” she said.

Arnett said her team is currently $2,000 away from their goal of $23,000 for the walk. She will also sell teddy bears and rubber duckies with pink ribbons on them and said she hopes the event will help her reach her goal.
