Fallen power line results in fire, traffic jam on Hwy 48/13

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Department of Electricity (CDE) reported a fire on Highway 48/13 near the intersection of Hawkins Rd.

According to CDE’s Facebook page, a power line fell on a tree and caught fire, causing a power outage for approximately 850 customers around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

The following areas were affected: Riverside Dr. from Cumberland Dr. to Hickory Grove Rd., Riverwood Pl., Southern Pkwy, Talton Dr., Greenland Farms Dr., and Ambleside Dr.

Crews are working to replace the wire and restore power.

The fire caused traffic jams near the Greenland Farms area and Zinc Plant Rd.
