CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Local attorney Erin Poland Nolder has announced her intentions to run for General Sessions judge in Montgomery County. The primary election will be May 5, 2026, and the general election will be Aug. 6, 2026.
Nolder, who currently serves as senior attorney and firm partner for Poland and Poland Attorneys at Law, is lead counsel for criminal and civil litigation and has appeared and argued before the Tennessee Supreme Court, the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, the Tennessee Court of Appeals, the United States District Court, as well as Circuit, Chancery, General Sessions and Juvenile Court in counties across Tennessee and Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
“I believe our next judge should have a deep and concentrated understanding of the unique challenges and needs of our community,” Nolder said. “Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to the rule of law, upheld the principles of justice, and worked tirelessly to protect our neighbors. There will be a true understanding from me that I will defend the Constitution, protect victims, hold criminals accountable, and apply the appropriate legal principles specific to each case.”
Nolder earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in criminology from Western Kentucky University, her master’s degree in sociology from Western Kentucky, and in 2007 her juris doctorate degree from the Nashville School of Law. She worked as a clinical therapist for at-risk juveniles while attending law school.
Nolder has been involved with numerous philanthropic and community organizations including Kiwanis International, NSL Legal Society, Wills for Heroes, Leadership Clarksville, Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Nolder is past president and vice president of the Montgomery Bar Association. She has also contributed countless hours of pro bono work for at-risk children and other members of our community.
Nolder is from Montgomery County. She and her husband, Chris, have one son, John Luke. They are members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Clarksville.
