CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville man was arrested after he was allegedly caught driving under the influence with children in the vehicle.
According to an arrest warrant, 42-year-old Alfred Eugene Bryant was stopped by police on Walnut St. at Providence Blvd. for improper use of the turn lane. The officer said it appeared Bryant had been drinking, and he performed poorly on a sobriety test.
Bryant consented to a breath test which said he was well above the legal limit.
Three children ages 6, 8, and 11 were in the backseat of the vehicle. Bryant said he was babysitting them.
Police also discovered that Bryant did not have a driver’s license.
Bryant was charged with DUI, driving without a license, and child abuse and neglect. His bond was set at $3,500.
