Miranda Herrick Book Signing

Join artist Miranda Herrick as she signs copies of her new book Works and Days: A Daily Drawing Series by Miranda Herrick. The book is available for purchase at Seasons: The Museum Store, which will remain open for the event. Light refreshments will be served.
Family Fun Day: National Day of the Horse
Saturday, December 13th, 10:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Celebrate the National Day of the Horse during our monthly Free Admission Saturday! Artist Eric Hansen and a live horse from his exhibit Eric L Hansen: Blood Rescue will be in the courtyard from 10:30 – 12:00 p.m. Activities in the Children’s Room will pay tribute to this remarkable animal that has carried our mail, plowed our fields, transported our ancestors, carried our goods, and even died on the battlefield while serving our country.
December in the Children’s Room: Let it Snow!
Open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday – Saturday
The Children’s Room provides exhibit-related, hands-on learning experiences for families. There are books to read, puzzles to complete, puppets to pretend with, crafts to make, art to enjoy, objects to examine, and things to try. Activities vary weekly.
Here are some places to find “snow” in the museum – the ice on Mt. Everest in the Hand Gallery, the snow in the Boehm porcelain birds and flowers collection, and of course lots of the pretty white stuff in the model train exhibit.
The day after Christmas, Ms. Sue will be reading winter stories 10 – 10:30 a.m. and 2 – 2:30 p.m. The model trains will run 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Greg Biggs, military historian presents Wacht Am Rhein: The German Army in the Battle of the Bulge
William Parker, Austin Peay State University presents The American Army in Late 1944
The Museum will be closed December 24th and 25th for Christmas, and January 1st for New Years Day.
