CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is planning a presentation to address prescription drug abuse in the city.
Captain Greg Gibson will make the presentation Dec. 16 at police headquarters.
According to the Foundation for a Drug-free World: “Many people think prescription drugs are safe because they were prescribed by a doctor. But taking them for nonmedical use to get high or “self-medicate” can be just as dangerous and addictive as taking illegal street drugs.”
The presentation aims to inform the public about CPD’s role in decreasing the number of citizens negatively affected by the misuse of prescription medications.
