CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Since May, Clarksville has seen an uptick in vehicle burglaries and motor vehicle thefts. Through investigations, Clarksville Police have identified trends in this type of crime.

The age range for the suspected offenders is between 13 and 21-years-old. The majority of suspects are under 18-years-old.  Clarksville Police have identified crews that have hit different subdivisions such as Heritage Pointe, Hazelwood, etc.

These investigations are still ongoing. From charges already filed, as well as projected charges for juveniles and adults involved, there will be over 100 charges filed in these cases. The charges range from misdemeanors to felony. They include crimes such as attempted burglary, curfew, burglary, robbery, weapon charges, and residential burglaries.

The vast majority of the charges are felonies.

Since June 1, there have been over 150 vehicle burglaries and 80 motor vehicle thefts. Items stolen from vehicles include money, electronic equipment, and firearms among other things. To help with the rash of burglaries and thefts, CPD has recently implemented stronger enforcement curfew violations.
