CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Due to their hard work achieving a reading incentive, 18,000 children in Montgomery County will receive an early Christmas reward this year.

On Dec 6th, The City Forum, family entertainment center, partnered with Chick-fil-A, Legends Bank, and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System to give a Christmas reward to every elementary school-aged child (approximately 18,000 students) to incentivize reading.

Schools received a $10 Player Card from The City Forum and a voucher for an 8-count nugget or sandwich from Chick-fil-A for each student at the school to be used as a literacy incentive.

Representatives from The City Forum and Chick-fil-A were at Byrns L. Darden Elementary School on Dec 6th with cows and go-karts to kick off the giveaway.  Byrns Darden was chosen to launch the event because of the high percentage of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.

Throughout the month of December, The City Forum is also partnering with the United Way of Clarksville for its Prepped for Success initiative to raise 10,000 pencils for economically disadvantaged children in the community. More information can be found at thecityforum.com/pencils.
