CLARKSVILLE, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System is offering a variety of mini-camps for children interested in exploring a variety of career pathways during the summer. Five pathway options are available for three-day immersive experiences.

Computer Information Technology Academy (CITA) at Northeast High School

CITA 2.0 offers camp participants a technology and team-building experience that is relevant to current technology industry standards. Students will build and code robots with Northeast High School’s award-winning, world-ranked robotics students and compete in a friendly competition of their own.

This camp is open to incoming fifth through eighth-grade students. The camp will be held June 1 – 3, from 8 a.m. – noon at Northeast High School. Those interested can apply online. The cost for the camp is $40 and is payable here or via cash or money order sent to Northeast High School, attn. Stefi Outlaw. The deadline to apply is May 14.

MediCamp at Northwest High School

Camp participants will spend three days immersed in all things medical and work side-by-side with current Health Science Academy students and teachers. Campers will spend time learning about nursing activities, how emergency medical personnel respond to events, why and what protective gear is required for medical professionals, spend time in a real ambulance, and so much more!

This camp is open to incoming sixth through ninth-grade students. The camp will be held May 31 – June 2, from 9 a.m. – noon at Northwest High School. The cost for the camp is $40 and is payable via cash, money order, or online payment. Those interested can apply online. The deadline to apply is May 11.

Academy of Media Arts and Technology Camp

The Create Workshop at Rossview High School will offer students a focused three-day training and development experience in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Students will enter as Interns and leave as Junior Designers, possessing a better understanding of and appreciation for the field of Digital Art & Design. Skills in typography and photo editing developed over the course of the workshop will lead students to design a creative poster of their own!

This camp is open to incoming sixth through ninth-grade students. The camp will be held on June 6 – 8, from 9 a.m. – noon at Rossview High School. The cost for the camp is $40 and is payable via cash, money order, checks (payable to Rossview High School), or online payment. Those interested can apply online. The deadline to apply is May 13.

Camp Engineer at Kenwood High School 

Camp Engineer is designed to spark interest in science and engineering. The camp will apply STEM concepts to increase critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. All activities students complete during the camp will be hands-on, collaborative, and highly interactive.

This camp is open to incoming fourth through sixth-grade students. The camp will be held on June 7 – 10, from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m at Kenwood High School. The cost for the camp is $40 and is payable online. Those interested can apply online. The deadline to apply is May 24.

Veterinary and Plant Science Camp at Montgomery Central High School

Students will be exposed to multiple aspects of the agriculture industry. The camp will be held at Montgomery Central High School and include animal science, plant science, and natural resources via classroom activities, the school farm, and the greenhouse. Camp participants will also work with current academy students to develop leadership and team-building skills.

This camp is open to incoming fourth and fifth-grade students. The camp will be held June 1 – 3, from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m at Montgomery Central High School. Those interested can apply online.
