Update, 3:45 p.m.: Residents near the Exxon Hi Road at Dover Crossing are urged to check their video systems for a suspect in the shooting of a clerk early Monday morning.
The suspect was wearing black clothing, a red face covering and purple gloves. He was armed with a black handgun, according to Clarksville Police.
Residents around the Fritz Circle, Darlene Drive and Bennett Drive areas are urged to check home video surveillance between the hours of 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. for anything that could aid in the investigation.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A clerk was shot during what appears to have been an attempted robbery at a gas station on Dover Road early Monday morning.
At about 1:40 a.m., someone shot the 40-year-old employee at the Exxon at 293 Dover Road, near Dover Crossing.
The employee was taken to a Nashville hospital in critical condition, according to Clarksville Now news partner Dash 10 Media.
The suspect fled, but it is unknown if it was on foot or by vehicle, according to Clarksville Police Detective Michael Patterson.
No further information was released.
