Hike with Shelter Dogs from Montgomery County Animal Control
Tails of the Trail invites you to hike with shelter dogs for a couple hours of exercise and companionship. The group is partnering with Montgomery County Animal Care & Control to hike the pups at Liberty Park.
Saturday’s Agenda: 8 a.m. – Arrive at the shelter, check in, attend required Volunteer Orientation. 8:30 a.m. – Get paired with your pup and load for transport to Liberty Park where the hike will begin. 10 a.m. – Return the dogs back to the shelter for long naps. Free Admission Family Day at Customs House Museum
Saturday, January 12 is free admission day at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center.
Located in downtown Clarksville, the Customs House Museum is the state’s second largest general museum, featuring over 35,000 square feet of exhibit space, hands-on activities and special events. Free admission day occurs on the second Saturday of every month.
Giant Indoor Yard Sale Benefiting Precious Friends Puppy Rescue
A giant indoor yard sale is being held this weekend to benefit Precious Friends Puppy Rescue’s building renovation fund. The property located at 20 Barker St. (off Riverside Dr.)
The fundraiser will feature over 3,000 sq. ft. of donated items including furniture, electronics, clothes, toys, housewares, wall art, pet crates & supplies, exercise equipment, health & beauty products, brand new kitchenware, collectibles, VHS & DVD movies, and more. Photos of many of the available items can be viewed on the organization’s Facebook page.
Sales dates are scheduled for Saturday, January 12 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Sunday, January 13 (12-4 p.m.) at the Barker Street location. Lot buyers are welcome to stop by at 4 p.m. on Sunday to make an offer on what remains. Any items not sold will be donated to other non-profit organizations.
Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink
The Downtown Commons Winter Ice Rink will be open through Jan. 21 in downtown Clarksville.
