Last Downtown @ Sundown concert of the season
The next Downtown @ Sundown concert is set for Friday, October 19 at the Downtown Commons (215 Legion Street). Joel Brown will perform with country/pop trio, Dozzi opening.
Openers start at 7 p.m. and Featured Artist takes the stage at 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to come early and bring family, friends, and their own chairs and blankets. Please leave coolers and pets at home.
Historic Collinsville’s Fall Pilgrimage
Historic Collinsville celebrates all things Fall with its annual Fall Pilgrimage on Saturday, October 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Throughout the day guests will experience spinners, weavers, children’s games, hayrides, pumpkins, make-and-take crafts, craft vendors, food and live bluegrass music. The event also marks the closing of the regular season for the pioneer settlement, situated on 40 beautiful rural acres about 15 miles south of Clarksville at 4711 Weakley Road in Southside, Tenn.
Clarksville BBQ Bash
Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s Clarksville BBQ Bash is free and open to the public and will take place beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park, 1188 Cumberland Drive.
Participating teams from near and far will compete for cash and to see who has the best BBQ. Attendees can enjoy kids activities, a cornhole tournament ($30 per team), local artisan vendors and so much more. Barbecue will be available for purchase.
‘A Walk into the Past’ Tour of Historic Downtown Clarksville
The Montgomery County Historical Society presents the inaugural walking tour of Historic Downtown Clarksville on Sunday, October 21 at 2 p.m. Tickets are limited and can be purchased online.
Participants can meet on the Public Square in front of F&M Bank for a stroll up Franklin Street (sorry, no more trolleys) and a few points beyond, and learn about how the town of Clarksville began and evolved into what we know today. Carolyn Stier Ferrell, local historian, author, and story-teller will lead the tour and share stories as you walk through Historic Downtown and see evidence and remnants of earlier days.
