CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Former Austin Peay basketball star and current Indiana Pacer Terry Taylor recently received recognition for his latest stint with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Taylor has split time playing in the NBA and G-League during the 2022-23 season for the Pacers organization. That includes playing with the Mad Ants during the G-League’s AT&T Winter Showcase.

They played in two games during the showcase, and Taylor led Fort Wayne to consecutive victories. Taylor earned All-Showcase Team honors alongside players such as Brandon Boston Jr., Isaiah Mobley, Tre Mann and Kenneth Lofton Jr.

Taylor averaged 37 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while shooting 76% from the field and 67% from three. During the final game, Taylor scored 46 points for the Mad Ants. That included hitting the game winning three, which clinched a 132-131 win.

On the season for the Mad Ants, Taylor has been impressive through the four games he played in. On the other hand, the forward hasn’t received much playing time in the NBA with the Pacers.

According to Basketball Reference, Taylor’s minutes have been reduced drastically. Last year, he averaged 21.6 minutes per game last year but has only averaged around 8 minutes per game this year.

He recently signed a multi-year contract with the Pacers.
