CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) seeks volunteers to help improve veterans’ experiences at its Clarksville community based outpatient clinic.
The clinic officially opened its doors earlier this month at 782 Weatherly Drive.
Volunteers provide many important services throughout the clinic and help make veterans’ visits more enjoyable. Currently, there are openings on certain weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The volunteer work environment is mainly in three lobby areas and/or an office setting, but volunteers may be asked to assist veterans with appointment check-in and escort veterans to other areas of the clinic. A volunteer’s talents and preferences can be closely matched with one of many assignments.
The TVHS Voluntary Service team is available to talk with individuals about how to best use their talents to help Veterans.
TVHS depends on the goodwill of community members who want to give something back to America’s heroes. Anyone interested in volunteering at the Clarksville clinic should call Tracy Douberley at 931-645-3552, extension 64115 or 64151. Completion of a new volunteer application, interview, background check, and orientation training is required to certify as a VA volunteer.
