CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville Police worked multiple crashes Wednesday morning due to icy road conditions.  There were ten reported weather-related crashes between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.  No serious injuries were reported in any of the them.

A few crashes occurred on several busy thoroughfares and overpasses, including one at the Exit 8 overpass over I-24, two at the Wilma Rudolph Blvd. and 101st Airborne Division Parkway overpass, and two at the 101st Parkway and Fort Campbell Blvd. overpass.

One of the crashes at Wilma Rudolph and 101st involved five vehicles, where TDOT responded to treat the frozen pavement.  Eastbound lanes there were shut down for about an hour.

One of the crashes at 101st and Fort Campbell involved a stationary patrol vehicle, which was unoccupied for traffic control when another vehicle hit a patch of ice and struck it.  The intersection there was shut down for about two hours following the crash.

Ice was reported in several other areas including the overpass near Merriweather Rd and Interstate 24.
