CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Brothers and Sisters of the Masonic Order came together at Byrns Darden Elementary School in Clarksville on December 12 to help make Christmas happier for those less fortunate.
The Annie Moore Toy Drive collected over 775 donations of toys and cold weather clothing. Jessica Harris, the new Principal of Byrns Darden, said she was thankful for the gifts and along with her staff the donations were distributed over the next two days.
The toy drive has grown from seven ladies who are clowns, the female auxiliary to the Shriners, to all the Masonic bodies in the Clarksville area. Project Chairperson, Martha Smith, said four of the ladies shop all year to make the project a success.
Many other local organizations also made contributions to the project which benefits the Clarksville military and civilian community.
