CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – A Clarksville man driving a utility van died in a wreck this morning on Interstate 24.
At 9:17 a.m., multiple vehicles crashed at mile marker 10 in the eastbound lanes, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
Following an initial crash, traffic slowed and a 2018 utility van driven by Devin M. Sproles, 31, of Clarksville rear-ended a stopped 2020 Freightliner commercial vehicle, according to a THP preliminary accident report obtained by Clarksville Now.
Sproles died at the scene. “It is unknown if he was restrained at the time, and a seatbelt would not have made a difference,” the report said.
