CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Lacrosse Club is looking to grow the lacrosse scene in Clarksville, hosting a free clinic for 1st-12th grade boys on July 19 at Civitan Park.

The purpose of the clinic from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on July 19, as stated in the Lacrosse Club’s press release, is to “introduce new participants to the sport, introduce athletes looking for a team to the Clarksville Clash, and refine skills of returning players.” Also known as the Clash, the club’s mission is to provide opportunities for youth in Clarksville in lacrosse and empower young athletes to be leaders on and off the field.

“It’s not every day you get to start a DI program and also help a recreational program develop,” said Clarksville Lacrosse Club President Josh Bukatz. “Clarksville has had an amazing team build the Clash and is also so invested in its future. Lacrosse is the fastest-growing game in the world, and we are excited to continue to grow it in Montgomery County.”

New participants to the game will not have to have their own gear to join the fun at the clinic. The club said that loaner equipment will be available to those coming to see what the game is all about.

Correction: the free clinic is set to take place on July 19th.
