The Military Affairs Committee of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce held its 17th annual Eternal Flame Wreath Laying Ceremony on Public Square.
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Military Affairs Committee of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce held its 17th annual Eternal Flame Wreath Laying Ceremony on Public Square Thursday.
“This community is like no other that I have been a part of in a 23-year military career. The feel of home, the feel of love and family, that you get in Clarksville is absolutely above everything else,” said Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Col. Andrew Jordan.

Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph Harbour and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Commander Col. Vince Myers also represented Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne Division at the ceremony.
“Today we are honoring and remembering our soldiers, and our veterans, who have given so much selflessly to our nation,” said Catherine Bertoldi, chair of the Military Affairs Committee of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce.
The eternal flame “Pillar of Cloud, Pillar of Fire” monument was unveiled in 2004 by the Military Affairs Committee.
Mayor Joe Pitts joined in laying the wreath at the base of the monument.
