CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville High head football coach Isaac Shelby and defensive coordinator Taylor Stanley have both been recognized with coaching awards following the Wildcats 26-14 win over Antioch this past Friday night.
Shelby was recognized as the Tennessee Titans Coach of the Week, while Stanley was recognized as the Tennessee Football Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Week.
“The award is all about the players. I didn’t have to tackle Andre Adams one single time or defend any of those wideouts,” Stanley told Clarksville Now. “It’s also a testament to the program and culture that have been built by Coach Shelby, the alumni, and all the assistant coaches.

The kids’ effort and performance were really special considering they did it with the region title on the line. I can’t say enough good things about our kids and how they prepare week in and week out to be successful. Just really proud of the program and the players.”
Coming into the contest against CHS, Antioch was averaging 45 points per contest on the year, led by four-star quarterback Andre Adams, the number two-ranked recruit in the state.
Stanley’s defense had constant pressure on Adams throughout Friday night, as the Wildcats finished the game with 9 sacks and only allowed 14 points scored.
Offensively, the Wildcats totaled 277 yards on the ground, including a 4-touchdown performance from Jamarcus Watkins, to seal the win for Clarksville High. The win will give the Wildcats home-field advantage for the first three rounds of the playoffs, if CHS continues to advance.
