CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High girls’ basketball team hosted Dickson County for a chance to become 2022-23 regional champions on Wednesday, March 3.
The Lady Wildcats had already faced the Cougars twice before Wednesday night. According to Max Preps, Clarksville High came out on top of each contest and outscored their opponents 136-106 during that two-game stretch.
Going into their third matchup of the season, Dickson was more prepared than ever. However, the Lady Wildcats won 45-40 and became regional champions for the 2022-23 season.
Clarksville High junior guard Imari Berry came alive during the fourth quarter to put the game away and lead her team in scoring. She finished the night with 13 points, and 8 points came in the last quarter. Seven other players established themselves in the scoring column.
Clarksville High and Dickson County will both be back in action for the chance to qualify for state during the next round of postseason play.
According to the TSSAA, with the regional championship win, the Lady Wildcats will face Whitehaven High, who is coming off a 56-79 loss to Barlett. That game is scheduled to take place at CHS on Saturday, March 4, with tipoff at 7 p.m.
