CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High cross-country team is set to compete in Huntsville, Alabama, for the Garmin Running Lane Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

According to their website, the Garmin Running Lane Cross Country Championships is described as “the fastest individuals and teams together at the same venue without the unnecessary requirement to qualify at a regional meet.”

Members of the Wildcats cross country team signed up for the national event as an individual or as part of the team representing the school.

“Our expectations are for the team to go all-out and leave everything they have on the course,” said Clarksville High Cross-Country Coach Ann Crouch. “The team has been talking about this meet since the first of June, and everyone’s goal has been to participate in the event. They are all excited and so am I.

“I want people to be aware of how strong of a team they are, how much they enjoy running and how much they enjoy being together no matter what. That has been the main focus.”

Crouch went on to detail how supportive they are of each other and in her 23 years of coaching, she’s never seen a group of student-athletes who have each other’s backs to this degree.
