CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Gas & Water was recently named the winner of the Region 9 Best Tasting Water Contest sponsored by the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts (TAUD). The competition was held in Charlotte, Tenn., on March 21.

TAUD Region 9 consists of Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery and Stewart counties. In addition to Clarksville Gas & Water, the other utilities participating in the competition were Water Authority of Dickson County and Pleasant View Utility District.

Participating as judges for the competition were Dickson County General Sessions Court Clerk Leslie Shelton, 23rd Judicial District Attorney Ray Crouch, and Brian Dyess, Regional Sales Manager for Aqua Smart, Inc. The drinking water samples were judged on their clarity, bouquet, and taste.

This spring, TAUD is conducting the Best Tasting Water in Tennessee Contest in each of its 11 regions. Each regional winner will compete at the TAUD’s 2024 Annual Business Conference at the Gatlinburg Convention Center on Thursday, August 8. The statewide winner will represent TAUD at the Great American Water Taste Test held in conjunction with the National Rural Water Association’s Rural Water Rally in February 2025.
