CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Keri Lovato has been appointed to the Clarksville City Council after being voted in during a special meeting on Wednesday. Lovato will serve as the representative for Ward 12 until the next city general election.

She has lived in Clarksville since 2012 and is an insurance agent.

Lovato has served her community in a number of ways already, including being the founder of a networking group that focuses on the success of small businesses and nonprofits. Lovato is in the process of creating a second group that would support women and the Safe House Program.

“I am really excited to be here, and for them to have voted me in,” Lovato said. “The decisions that are made in that room directly affect families just like mine and business owners that I love. So, I’m excited to be a part of that decision making process.

“I would love to hear from them (Ward 12). I want to hear what their concerns are; what their love for Ward 12 is; what they would love to see, so one of my biggest things is I want to open up the communication. I want to get them more involved, and I hope I’m someone they can trust to come with those things.”
