CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Christian Centurions hosted the Zion Christian Academy Eagles on Thursday night for a state volleyball quarterfinal matchup in a win-or-go-home contest. The Centurions swept the Eagles in straight sets for a 3-0 win, earning the Centurions their first-ever state tournament win in their first appearance.

“Couldn’t be more proud of this team. Making program history is great, but they stepped into the gym tonight with a job to do and got it done,” said Centurions head coach Marth Sheffield. “Each day, they are more of a family than the day before. They are continuing to grow, learn, and get better individually and as a team.”

The Centurions won by set scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-19. Now, the Centurions are two wins away from a TSIAA state title, and will face Franklin Christian at their place at 6 p.m. on Friday, for the right to play in their first-ever state title game.
