CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Christian Lady Centurions welcomed the Pleasant View Christian School Warriors to Clarksville on Tuesday Night for a district matchup. The Centurions controlled the game from opening tip until the final buzzer, winning 69-25 in blowout fashion.
The Centurions traveled to Ohio this past weekend for a tournament with tough competition and lost both games in close contests. They bounced back in a big way, building a 47-14 halftime lead.
Forward Lauren Hasell led the way with 16 first-half points, ending the night with 20 after sitting most of the second half. Right behind her was guard Kaydence Kindle with 15 first-half points, finishing with 18.

“We took care of business after some good competition and learning lessons up in Ohio,” said Centurions head coach Trenton Hassell. “It gave us a chance to work on some stuff and fix our issues before we get into tournament time, and I was proud of the way they bounced back.”

At the half, CCS forward Marley Spiers was honored for scoring her 1,000-career point, while also securing her 1,000-career rebound. It seemed too fitting that she finished the night with a double-double.
When play resumed, Hassell called the dogs off in the second half, and the Centurions cruised to a 44-point district win. They celebrated their lone senior, Liz Witherspoon, in a big way, and honored her senior night with a huge victory. While she may not get the most minutes, Witherspoon is a vital part of the Centurion Program.
“Liz has been a leader and a steady force since I got here, and even before that,” said Hassell. “She’s played with some of the girls since she was in the third grade. She’s a crucial part of our program, she works hard, and she gives everything she has every day.”
