CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) The Clarksville Buffalo Soldiers spent their Monday at Burt Elementary School helping the students celebrate Thanksgiving.
The group donated 50 turkeys with the fixings, which included a bag of goodies, and also made a donation of 30 coats for children in need. Shamona Sanders with the organization says it is something they do each year for the students at the school.
Sanders added that the 9th & 10th Cavalry and Buffalo Soldier and Trooper Motorcycle Club in Clarksville really enjoy the opportunity to give back to the community.
The Buffalo Soldiers have a log history and were originally members of the 10th Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army formed in 1866.
