CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Megan and Luke Baggett, the owners of local boutique, The Copper Petal, recently hosted a party at their store for Taylor Ray, a recent high school graduate who just finished her chemo treatment for ovarian cancer.
The Baggetts first met Taylor back in July, when they opened The Copper Petal. Taylor had shopped at their booth at Miss Lucille’s, and she was excited that they were opening their own store front.
When the business owners met Taylor, they had no idea that she had cancer. They said she was always in such a bright mood, but she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer shortly after graduating high school.
A few days before The Copper Petal’s grand opening party, Taylor’s best friend, Tiffany, visited the Baggetts at their store to let them know that Taylor wouldn’t be able to make it to the party, and how upset Taylor was over it. Throughout her treatment, Taylor was having complications with the chemo therapy, which required extra hospital visits.
After she finally completed her treatment, Taylor approached the Baggetts about hosting her “Hello hair, Goodbye chemo” party at The Copper Petal. The owners were honored to oblige the request.
As a special surprise for the party, the Baggetts reached out to various country music artists, asking them to make a short video to let Taylor know that people around the globe were thinking of and praying for her. The final video included messages from Dan + Shay, Love & Theft, Jon Langston, and Michael Ray. Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and Clarksville Mayor-elect Joe Pitts also left thoughtful messages for Taylor.
In addition to the video, several local businesses pitched in and donated gifts and gift cards for Taylor and her family. Businesses that donated include AndVinyl, Mildred & Mables, Isabella Sophia, Journey’s Eye Studio, Yellow Bird Massage, Living for Everything, Joevie Jewelry, NDB Cosmetics, and Snapdragon Wagon.
