CLARKSVILLE, TN – Some of the Clarksville area’s best high school female wrestlers joined with other top Tennessee wrestlers to create a statewide dream team to compete at USA Wrestling’s Junior National Duals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the Cox Business Center June 14-15. In the end, Tennessee’s A-team, Tennessee Red, finished 12th among 41 state teams.

The B-team, Tennessee Blue, finished 2nd in their consolation pool and the 14U team finished 6th place out of 20 teams.

Local stars joined the cast in a team that featured state champions and medalists from across Tennessee. Competing on the A-team were 3x state champion Ella Lina Gonzalez (Clarksville) at 122, freshman state champion Mariana Bowen (Rossview) at 127, freshman state champion Audrey Levendusky (Montgomery Central) at 127, 2023 state champion Genesis Gilmore (Montgomery Central) at 144, 2023 state medalist Irelynn Laurin (Rossview) at 180, 2x state champion ShaNiayha Wysinger (Clarksville) at 225. The only member competing on the B-team from the area was state qualifier LilyAnn Blair (Clarksville) at 122.

Tennessee Red had wins over Utah, Indiana, Kansas and Minnesota. They took losses to eventual runner-up Michigan, 3rd place Pennsylvania, 9th place Wisconsin, and lost a razor-thin 33-30 battle to Texas in the 11th place match.

The A-team team was coached by Cleveland’s Josh Bosken and Montgomery Central’s Derek Levendusky.
