CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Christina Trawinski has announced her candidacy for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School Board, District 7.
Trawinski has lived in Montgomery County for over 34 years and has over 20 years of classroom teaching experience, teaching grades 2-8 in public, Christian and Department of Defense schools across four states before retiring in 2015. Her experience includes traditional curriculum, STEM education, and Inclusion instruction.
Following retirement, she developed a STEM after-school program for the Nashville Public Library, became a real estate agent, served on the Customs House Museum Guild and tutored for the Adult Literacy program. She is active in the Rotary Club, currently serving as secretary. She has served as Co-Chair of Best of Clarksville and is a proud graduate of Leadership Clarksville, Class of 2020.
Her husband, Mark, is a retired Army officer who continues his career with Vanderbilt University Medical Center. They have two adult daughters, Caroline and Catherine, both graduates of Rossview High School.
“Living a military life shaped our family’s values of service, responsibility, and resilience, values I bring to public education leadership,” Trawinski said. “I believe quality education is about more than test scores. We must build safe infrastructure for a growing population, provide fact-based curriculum, support professional educators, and ensure schools have the staff needed to function every day. We must also responsibly embrace technology to enhance learning. I may not have all the answers, but I will always listen.”
