CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. – UPDATE: The escapee, Russell K. Edwards, was taken into custody by the Hopkinsville Police Department at approximately 4:32 p.m. He was located at the Turner Apartments on North Main Street in Hopkinsville. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
An inmate from the Christian County Jail escaped from a work detail Thursday, March 12 around 12:52 p.m.
Kentucky State Police reported that Russell K. Edwards, 24, walked away from a work detail at the landfill located on Mt. Zoar Latham Road.
Edwards is described as a black male with brown eyes and black hair. He is 5’11” and weighs 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a striped shirt.
Edwards is a state inmate who was incarcerated for numerous offenses. Police urge anyone who may come into contact with him not to try to apprehend him, but to call Kentucky State Police at 1-270-676-3313 or toll-free, in Kentucky, at 1-800-222-5555, or local law enforcement.
