CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Several new businesses have recently opened near Exit 8 at 1243 Rossview Plaza, including Chillville Bakery & Boba.
The idea behind Chillville began with two families: husband and wife Teja Kakarla and Harika Nandigam, and business partner Naga Lakshmi. Kakarla said as the families grew closer, they learned of their passion for baking. “They started going to farmers markets in the areas of Spring Hill and Franklin, and they got a great response,” Kakarla said.

When they discussed places to possibly open a brick and mortar location in Middle Tennessee, Kakarla said, they noticed an opportunity at 1243 Rossview Plaza. “We love Clarksville, and it’s growing so fast, we said let’s bring something to this community,” he said.
Looking to pair something with their baked goods they landed on boba, as well as ice cream. “We wanted to do something to complement those things,” Kakarla said. “That’s how the whole concept of our shop came about.”
Lakshmi: ‘We are focusing on no preservatives’
Lakshmi told Clarksville Now she’s always been passionate about baking and using real ingredients. “With us being surrounded by schools, I personally don’t want any preservatives,” she said. “We are focusing on no preservatives, no stabilizers.”
Lakshmi said baked items like Chillville’s cookies will be good for seven days in an airtight container with the natural ingredients used. With their boba, cane sugar is used as part of the drink mixture, but agave maple syrup is also offered as an alternative, Nandigam said.
“Our goal is to bring something to the community that they will value, something that will satisfy cravings, and we wanted to do it in a healthier way,” he said. “So, that’s our recipe for Chillville.”

Personal favorites, hours of operation
Lakshmi said some of her favorite baked goods at Chillville are the classic chocolate chip cookie, walnut cookie, and the Nutella lava burst cookie. But she said she puts her heart and soul into each item, so she loves them all.
Kakarla said his favorite is the pistachio cookie, but he’s also looking forward to sharing donut selections as they’ve expanded their menu this week.
Nandigam said her personal favorite boba is the blue pea butterfly, but customers have raved about the brown sugar boba selection.
