The West Creek Coyotes traveled to Henry County High School for the district 14- 3A championship game against the Patriots. An instant classic of a contest took overtime and a penalty shootout to decide the winner.
The Rossview Hawks soccer team hosted the Clarksville Wildcats for the District 13-3A championship. An intense rivalry matchup saw great defense with timely scoring, which culminated in a 2-1 victory for the Hawks, earning them a district championship.
The Montgomery Central Indians traveled to Murfreesboro for day two of the inaugural TSSAA Flag Football Invitational. In bracket play, the Indians defeated the Jackson Northside Indians to advance to the Elite Eight, however, they then fell to the Green Hill Hawks, 27-14, ending their season in the state tournament.
The Clarksville Christian Centurions faced the Christian Community Colts in the TSIAA softball semifinals at Rich Ellen Park. The Centurions offense exploded for a 16 hit night, earning a 12-2 win, and advancing them to their second straight TSIAA title game.
The Montgomery Central Indians traveled to the Siegel Stars Soccer Complex for the inaugural TSSAA Flag Football Invitational. Wednesday was day one and pool play for seeding, determining the bracket for Thursday’s single elimination tournament, and the Indians went 2-1, losing to Pearl Cohn in game one, and defeating Blackman and Fulton in games two and three, and earning the one seed due to margin of victory.
Rossview High Athletic Director Russell Mang has announced the hiring of Drew Smith as the next head coach for the Hawks girls’ basketball team, the fifth in their program’s history.
The Kirkwood High Cobras soccer team traveled to Clarksville High for the district 13- 4A semifinals against the Wildcats in an elimination game. The Wildcats used timely goals to pull ahead, and despite a late score from the Cobras, they fell just short, as CHS advanced to the district championship with a 2-1 victory, which also ends the Cobras’ season.
The third-seeded Fairview Yellow Jackets traveled to the two-seeded Montgomery Central Indians for the first round of the District 11- 3A tournament. The Indians’ offense scored timely runs, and Central’s Addison Jackson pitched a complete game shutout to earn a 2-0 victory and stay in the winner’s bracket.
