A seven-run seventh inning catapulted Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to a 18-11 victory against Evansville, Sunday, in the final day of the SAF Dirt Classic on Joe Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

A thrilling ending was befitting of a one-point game that featured 12 lead changes and 13 ties, but in the end, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball came up just short, as they dropped a heartbreaker in the final seconds of regulation to Eastern Illinois, 73-72, Saturday at Lantz Arena.

Having won seven-straight matches, Austin Peay State University women’s tennis will put their winning streak to the test with a 4 p.m., Friday match against Louisville at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. After taking on the Cardinals on the road, the Governors will return home for an 11 a.m., Saturday match against North Alabama and a 12 p.m., Sunday match against Middle Tennessee.

For the second time this season, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball led wire-to-wire in an Education Day game; with six players scoring in double-figures, the Governors rolled to a 79-62 win over SIU Edwardsville, Thursday at the Vadalabene Center, as the Govs posted their third-straight win in Ohio Valley Conference play.

With just four games left in the regular season, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball will be on the road for three of them, starting with a matinee 11 a.m., Thursday, contest against SIU Edwardsville at the Vadalabene Center.
