Robert Sidney “Bobby” Powers passed away on September 19, 2024. Bobby was born on December 25, 1943, to Robert Clay and Anna Belle Powers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Susan Taylor Powers and his daughter, Amy Laura Powers Stapp and grandson Jackson Powers. Bobby and Susan were married in 1966 and began a wonderful life of hard work on the farm, together raising four children to know and serve God.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Settle-Powers, his children Bryce (Karen) Powers, Mary Frances (Jason) Daugherty, Susanna Powers, and nine grandchildren, Emma Kate, Cullom and Izzy Stapp, Isaac and Abby Powers, and Sam, Annabelle, Ben and John Oliver Daugherty.
Bobby was a faithful member of The Bridge Church in Clarksville and was generous and always willing to help those in need. After a long career in agriculture, Bobby entered the real estate business and founded Prudential Professionals Realty which he successfully operated for years. Never retiring, he then continued his development and home building business. Bobby was a tireless advocate for the Clarksville business community and always had a word of encouragement for everyone.
Graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, September 23, 2024, at Powers Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mike Atkins, Andy Wyatt, Clay Powers, Brandon Powers, Jorden Means, and Rod Banks. Honorary pallbearers are Cullom Stapp, Isaac Powers, Sam Daugherty, Ben Daugherty, John Oliver Daugherty, Nathaniel Taylor, Conroy Taylor and Nick Taylor.
