CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Clarksville man has been charged with aggravated burglary after allegedly breaking into a home and crashing a car while trying to flee from police.

An arrest warrant states that a witness saw the suspect break into a unit in her apartment complex on Professional Park Dr. March 24. The witness told police she saw a man remove a television from the apartment and place it in a black car. The vehicle’s tag had been covered with a restaurant menu.

Officers responded to the scene and located the vehicle matching the description and attempted to pull the driver over on Ted Crozier Blvd.

The driver, 31-year-old Randolph Scott, fled from the officers and crashed the car at the intersection of Warfield Blvd. and Ted Crozier Blvd.

Police found the television in plain sight in the back seat, as well as a PlayStation and a rifle in the front seat.

Scott is a convicted felon and was on probation for aggravated burglary at the time of his arrest.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary, evading arrest, and other traffic violations. His bond was set at $140,000.
