CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Crews have recovered a body from the Cumberland River downstream from Clarksville.
At about 3:25 p.m. today, barge crews reported seeing a body in the river near the Smith Branch Boat Ramp, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Sandra Brandon.
Units were dispatched to both sides of the river while the barge crew maintained a visual on the body and assisted in the recovery, Brandon said.
The body will be sent to the medical examiner for positive identification.
Smith Branch Boat Ramp is about four miles downstream and southwest of Clarksville.
No further information has been released.
